Liquitex Soluvar Gloss Varnish 32 oz. Bottle

Very fluid low viscosity varnish that can be applied as a final coat over dry acrylic or dry oil paint to enhance the depth and intensity of colors. Available in matte as well, which can be mixed to achieve different levels of sheen. This permanent yet removable final varnish is suitable for acrylic and oil paintings, providing protection to the surface while allowing for the removal of surface dirt without causing damage to the painting underneath. Once the surface is clean, a new coat of Soluvar can be reapplied.

It is recommended to thin the varnish with mineral spirits or turpentine, avoiding the use of odorless mineral spirits. When dry, Soluvar forms a clear, non-tacky, water-resistant film that is hard and prevents the retention of dirt, as well as avoiding contact with dirt and pollutants on the paint surface. The varnish is self-leveling and does not retain brush strokes, staying flexible to prevent cracking when the surface expands or contracts due to changes in temperature and humidity.

Resistant to discoloration, Soluvar does not yellow or fog even when exposed to humidity, heat, or ultraviolet light, providing protection against harsh elements for both interior and exterior use. This professional gloss varnish is suitable for finished, dry paints, offering archival quality and removability, creating a transparent and glossy finish that is non-yellowing and water resistant once dry.
