Our professional gessoes typically require just one coat, and when combined with Liquitex Soft Body color, they can be used to create personalized tints and primers.

Liquitex Gesso Surface Prep Medium is a top-quality acrylic gesso that is perfect for preparing painting surfaces for acrylic and oil paints. It serves as an excellent base coat primer for a variety of applications, including murals, often needing only one coat. This medium can be applied to any material or surface that can accept traditional acrylic media, like canvas, paper, and wood. Liquitex Surface Prep Mediums are lightweight, non-toxic, and dry to a water-resistant, non-yellowing finish.

For application, the gesso can be used undiluted or thinned up to 25% with water. If thinning by more than 25%, a mixture of water and Liquitex Matte Medium in equal parts can be used.
