With their slower drying time compared to thinner paint films, gels provide more workable time, allowing for creativity to flow freely.

Containing acrylic resins, gel mediums can modify acrylic paints in various ways, improving adhesion and durability while adding texture, enhancing color, and increasing transparency in your work. Liquitex Gloss Super Heavy Gel Painting Medium, the thickest "clear" gel available, offers an extremely thick, extra-heavy body with a stiff, "oil-like" feel. It dries clear to translucent with minimal shrinkage, providing excellent adhesion for collage and mixed media.

Formulated for maximum flexibility and adhesion, this gel medium extends paint, increases brilliance and transparency, and keeps paint workable longer than other gel mediums. It can be applied to any material that accepts traditional acrylic media, including canvas, paper, and wood.

Liquitex Texture Gels are lightweight, non-toxic, and dry to a water-resistant, non-yellowing surface. As an extender, mix them with Liquitex Soft Body Artist Color or Liquitex Heavy Body Professional Artist Color to increase color viscosity, body, volume, transparency, and brilliance. When used as a ground, apply adequate pressure to bond the gel to raw canvas before painting over it once dry. For collage and decoupage, these gels offer excellent adhesion.
