Liquitex varnishes are available in various sheens that can be mixed together to create a custom sheen. The Liquitex Archival Permanent Varnish Finishing Medium is a durable, low-odor medium that is translucent when wet and clear when dry. It is resistant to discoloration from humidity, heat, and UV light. This medium can be used with Spray Paint, Heavy Body, and Soft Body acrylic paints to create a hard, non-tacky, and flexible surface that repels dirt. It is archival, non-yellowing, and water-resistant once dry, protecting acrylic colors from harsh conditions both indoors and outdoors. To apply, make sure the painting and environment are clean, dry, and free of dust. Allow acrylic paintings to dry and cure for 48-72 hours before varnishing. Application can be done with a brush or spray. Spray application is recommended for a thinner, smoother, and more even finish. Avoid rolling or sponging application.
