This medium can enhance color intensity, increase transparency, add gloss, improve paint flow, and enhance flexibility and adhesion of the paint film. It can also be used as a non-removable varnish to protect paintings and create a glossy surface.

When wet, the medium is translucent, but it dries to a clear, non-tacky, flexible surface resistant to dirt retention. It allows moisture to pass through and does not crack with temperature and humidity changes. Suitable for any surface, flexible or inflexible, except for oil paint.

The Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish Fluid Painting Medium can be used in various ways, such as a medium extender. Mixing with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Color extends volume and transparency while reducing paint viscosity. It can also be used as a fixative by mixing with distilled water for added gloss.
